Qualifications:
- Diploma of Community Services
- Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention
- Working with Children Check
- Police Check
- First aid
- Administering medication, including Duodopa (for Parkinson’s disease)
Kristy has also attended various training sessions including youth suicide, identifying sexualized behaviour among siblings, conflict management training, working with high-risk behaviour clients, youth mental health, dementia, and Parkinson’s disease.
Kristy began her career as a childcare worker before moving into high-risk youth services in the Gippsland region. She then relocated to Geelong to work with complex mental health and disability patients. Kristy has been in the industry for more than 14 years during which time she has also worked with young people in correction facilities including the Parkville Youth Justice Centre, Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre and Barwon Prison.
Kristy has worked alongside and is mentored by some of the best complex behaviour occupational therapists, DHHS complex behaviour coordinators, physiotherapists and behaviour specialists.
